Nassau County Record (Fernandina, FL) – The NFFL is proud to announce the Fernandina Pirates have joined the league for the 2011 season. The Pirates will be placed in the Tagliabue Division and fill the slot vacated by the departure of the Peabody Tanners.
The Pirates are owned and operated by Becky Bonfanti of Black Pearl, Ltd. Ms. Bonfanti’s firm specializes in mergers, acquisitions, and liquidations of various petrochemical companies in emerging global markets. Black Pearl Ltd. is known for ruthless practices including forced relocation, plundering and rum running.
“Black Pearl Ltd. was recently cleared by the SEC and the International Court of Justice on all charges of piracy. The fact our NFFL team and logo display a certain fearless mascot are pure coincidence.” said Pirates’ spokesmate Jack Sparrow.
