Southwood Tattler (Tallahassee, FL) – The Southwood Dolphin’s push to the NFFL playoffs took an unexpected turn as they fell to the Tallahassee Terrors 97-80. The Dolphins find themselves in 3rd place of the hotly contested Tagliabue Division. “I’m not sure what happened out there today. We game planned for the Terrors all week and I really thought our Rainbow Offense would be unstoppable,” said Dolphins’ Offensive Coordinator Jeff Bowden.
The Slippery Rock Tortfeasors kept their hold on 2nd place in the Lombardi Division as they dispatched the Monticello Cornish Hens 130-54. “The Hens like the Ethiopians before them were a scrappy bunch. However, they were no match for our superior firepower and guile,” said Tortfeasors’ owner Mike “Il Duce” Haire. The loss was not devastating for the Hens’ title hopes as the Nimrods also lost keeping the Hens 1/2 a game out of first place. “I’m not worried about how we played today, I’m worried about finding the right kind of silver polish for my Championship trophy,” said Hens’ owner Tyler “Full House” McNeill.
The Mootown Marauders continued their surprising year as they defeated the Miccosukee Nimrods 84-72. The Marauders have won 3 games in a row and are becoming a serious contender in the Lombardi Division. “We’re kicking butt on the field and finding great fashion deals off it. The next thing on my list is a new pair of boots and a win against the Seersuckers,” said Marauders’ owner Kirsten “Dolce” Matthis.
