NFFL.com (Monticello, FL) – The NFFL League Office is proud to announce that the 2012 ESPN league site is now active. After receiving bids from CBS Sports, Yahoo and NFL.com for the rights to hosts the 2012 edition of the NFFL Commissioner Bonfanti made the much anticipated announcement early this week.
“We’re been with ESPN since 2009 and it’s a relationship that has benefited both parties. Does ESPN wine and dine me each year, and take me on all expense paid trips to drive race cars? Of course they do. However, I want to assure you all that the posh fillet mignon fueled trip to San Antonio, Texas, played no part in our decision.” Bonfanti said from a private yacht emblazoned with ESPN logos anchored off Amelia Island.
Immediately following the announcement the league’s ESPN site went live. Owners are now able to edit their franchise information if desired. New owners are reminded they will not be able to log onto the site until they receive an invitation. These are scheduled to be issued by the end of the weekend.
NFFL spokewoman Patti Ann Brown stated the league requested all owners who wanted to participate in the 2012 NFFL season confirm their intent to play by Friday, June 13, 2012. “Admission to the NFFL is not something that is easily obtained, and we want to make sure those already in the front door want to remain. Otherwise, there is a long line of potential owners pining for an NFFL franchise. ”
Confirmed teams for 2012 at the time of this release include the Golden Eagles, Hilliard Flashes, Lamont All-Stars, Miccosuckee Nimrods, Monticello Cornish Hens, Mootown Marauders, New Canaan Chrebets, North Florida Seersuckers, Slippery Rock Tortfeasors, and Southwood Dolphins. The NFFL will award one expansion franchise to complete the ten team league. The announcement is expected to be made sometime in early July.
